Why owners choose AEI

Owner-first

Our loyalty is to building owners and the climate. We don't sell equipment, mark up construction or answer to investors.

Rebates reach you

Utility and tax-funded incentives should land with the owner. We help you capture them, and we keep our fees at or under what's available whenever we can.

Faster, lower-cost analysis

AI-assisted analysis works through utility bills, interval data and building records in days instead of weeks. You get the same rigor at a lower cost.

Independent advice

We're not an ESCO and not a contractor. Every recommendation is one we'd make for our own building.

Facing a BPS deadline?

Energize Denver requires buildings of 25,000 sq ft and up to benchmark every year and meet energy use targets, with a final target in 2030. Building Performance Colorado covers buildings of 50,000 sq ft and up statewide, with 2030 targets and an annual November 1 reporting deadline starting in 2026.

We confirm which rules apply to your building, close the gap at the lowest cost, and file the paperwork.

Featured partner project

172 income-qualified Denver households had heat but no cooling. Now every apartment has a high-efficiency heat pump, and rebates paid 95% of the bill.

The Towers at Speer is a 1982 Denver apartment building that serves lower-income families. Its hot water radiant system could only heat, so residents went without cooling through Denver summers. Miles led the ASHRAE Level 2 audit and engineered a conversion of the building's heating loop to serve 175 new water-source heat pumps, giving every apartment quiet, efficient heating and cooling.

As a Denver Equity Priority Building, the project stacked Denver's C.A.S.R. rebate with Xcel Energy's heat pump discount: $1,435,000 against a $1.51 million cost. That left the owner $78,470, which the estimated Section 179D deduction more than covers. The building then earned an ENERGY STAR score of 95 and already beats its 2030 Energize Denver target, six years early.
